DOG TRAINING COURSES IN SHEFFIELD

PRE-TRAINING ASSESSMENT

Every dog that walks through our Sheffield gates has a story, and understanding that story is what separates genuinely effective training from short-term fixes. Our Pre-Training Assessment is where that understanding begins. Over approximately one hour, your trainer will ask the questions that get to the root of what's happening — your dog's history, their triggers, their environment at home and how their behaviour has developed over time. You'll also work through a series of practical exercises that give your trainer a clear, firsthand picture of how your dog thinks and responds. By the end of the assessment, you'll have a much clearer understanding of your dog's behaviour yourself, and a bespoke training plan that addresses the cause rather than just the symptoms.

PERSONAL BEHAVIOUR & OBEDIENCE TRAINING

This is the course most of our Sheffield clients begin with, and the one that produces some of our most dramatic transformations. We start where all effective training starts — with foundations. Before we can address specific behaviours, your dog needs a reliable communication framework: an understanding of what you expect, how you signal it, and why responding to you is always worth their while. It sounds simple, but getting this right changes everything. Once the foundations are in place, we work methodically through the issues that matter most to you — whether that's reactivity on the lead, aggression towards other dogs or people, recall in the park, or any number of other challenges that make daily life harder than it needs to be. Sheffield's parks and green spaces are woven into the training wherever possible, so your dog learns to behave not just in a controlled environment, but out in the real world where it actually matters.

BOOST DAY TRAINING

Our Sheffield Boost Days are one of the most effective ways to accelerate your dog's training, and the results often surprise owners who've been struggling for months or even years. Your dog spends a full, intensive day working one-to-one with one of our experienced Sheffield trainers — at the centre, out in High Hazels Park, and in the kind of everyday situations where good behaviour really counts. The day is built around the specific priorities identified during your assessment, moving through relationship building, core behaviours, socialisation and impulse control at a pace that a standard weekly session simply cannot replicate. At the end of the day, you join your trainer for a thorough handover — a dedicated hour where everything is explained clearly, including exactly what was worked on and the specific exercises you need to continue at home. Most owners leave with a genuine sense of momentum and a much clearer picture of what's possible.

RESIDENTIAL & HOME LIFE TRAINING

For dogs that need the most intensive and immersive approach, our Residential Training programme delivers results that no other format can match. Your dog goes to live with one of our Sheffield-based trainers for the full duration of the course — becoming part of their household, joining them on their daily walks through High Hazels Park and the wider Sheffield area, and receiving consistent, expert guidance from morning to evening. This level of immersion allows us to work on behaviour across every part of daily life, not just in a training session — which is precisely why the results are so different to anything that weekly lessons can achieve. We begin with a full assessment to ensure the course is tailored to your dog's specific needs and your home environment, and we finish with a comprehensive handover so you have everything you need to maintain and build on the progress made.

PUPPY PRE-TRAINING ASSESSMENT

Starting your puppy's training journey in the right way makes everything easier — and harder to get wrong later. Our Puppy Pre-Training Assessment at our Sheffield centre in High Hazels Park gives you a proper, unhurried introduction to what good training looks like for your specific puppy. Your trainer will spend time getting to know both of you, understanding your goals, your lifestyle and your puppy's personality before putting together a course that's genuinely built around your needs. Sheffield dog owners often tell us they wish they'd come to us sooner — the assessment is the best way to find out exactly where you stand and what the right next step looks like for you.

PUPPY SOCIALISATION

Sheffield is a city full of parks, paths and busy streets — and a well-socialised puppy handles all of it with confidence. Our puppy socialisation drop-off days at High Hazels Park are run in one of the most naturally stimulating environments imaginable, giving your puppy structured exposure to sights, sounds and other dogs in a genuinely real-world setting, under the close supervision of our experienced trainers. We teach puppies not just to tolerate other dogs, but to interact with them appropriately — learning boundaries, reading signals and building the kind of social confidence that makes every future walk easier. If you're at work during the day and want that time to count towards your puppy's development, this is exactly what these sessions are designed for.

PUPPY TO ADULT TRAINING COURSES

The early months with a puppy move fast — and the adolescent phase that follows can feel like all the early work has been undone overnight. Our Puppy to Adult programme in Sheffield is designed to carry you and your dog through every significant stage of their development, from the first weeks of puppyhood right through to young adulthood. Delivered across three structured stages — Puppyhood, Adolescence and Young Adult — the programme adapts as your dog grows, always focusing on what matters most at that particular point in their development. Crucially, much of the practical training takes place in and around High Hazels Park, giving your dog the opportunity to practise real-world obedience in the kind of distracting outdoor environment where it really counts.

Dog To Assess

Your first consultation is where it all begins. We’ll review your dog’s history, carry out practical exercises, identify key problem areas, and set clear training goals.

After the assessment at our Sheffield Centre, we’ll design a bespoke training plan. This starts with building solid foundations for great communication, trust, and good behaviour—essential for long-term success.

Once these foundations are set, we’ll address specific issues and progress to advanced obedience techniques for everyday control and safety.

Our expert training, co-developed by our certified dog behaviourist, will help you achieve the dog you’ve always dreamed of.

What You Need To Bring

We like to assess you and your dog on the equipment you normally walk them on. In some instances we may ask you to remove a training aid that is masking a behaviour, this could be a head collar or a particular type of training lead.

How Long It Takes

Our assessment takes around one hour. During this time you will be asked a series of questions that will give us a comprehensive history of your dog. We will then ask you to carry out some practical elements.

What We're Looking For

We will dig deep into the history of the time you have spent with your dog to find out exactly where your current relationship is and where any possible problem behaviours stem from. When we are able to find the root cause of any issues, we are able to address the real issue and provide a long lasting resolution to the problems.
